The ‘luxury’ camp on offer at Suikerbossie, Ghoeboontjie is both charming and well-appointed. We’ve stayed here many times over the years, and the only quibble that I’ve had is the cost. The caravan is very comfortable and cosy, cool in the heat of summer. The kitchen area and grassy braai-spot next to the river really are ideal, and it is relatively secluded, with a beautiful riverine forest ambiance. If you’re looking for a slightly cushier stay without a tent, and don’t mind spending a bit more, this is the spot.
